The President of Oklahoma State University, Burns Hargis, issued a video statement on Friday saying the claims in the Sports Illustrated series are not representative of the university, and an investigation will be done.

Friday morning, Sports Illustrated released Part 4 of its special report, which focuses on OSU's hostess program, Orange Pride, claiming a small subset of the girls slept with recruits in an effort to sway them to choose to come to Oklahoma State.

OSU President Burns Hargis issued a video statement on the university's response page to address the SI investigation.

"Let me emphasize, whether the reporting was fair and credible is not the issue. The issue is the substance of the accusations. And it is my responsibility as OSU president to assure that the review is fair, comprehensive and thorough," Hargis said in the statement.

News surfaced last Saturday that Sports Illustrated has been working on a series of investigative articles detailing alleged improprieties within the Oklahoma State football program.

The magazine has released four parts of the series, including "Money," "Academics," "Drugs," and "Sex." The last part of the series, "The Fallout," is set to be released on September 17.
