Norman police have canceled a Silver Alert after a missing 86-year-old man has been found safe.

A woman told police that her husband, W.D. McIntosh, had left their home in the 1700 block of Jenkins Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. and had not returned. He suffers from dementia.

Officers say McIntosh was under proven medical or physical disability and they believed he was in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.

McIntosh stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 158 pounds. He has gray hair, blue eyes, and a gray beard. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue pants and brown shoes.

Just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Norman police say McIntosh was found safe near the police training center. He has been transported to the Norman Regional Hospital for precautionary measures only.
