WASHINGTON -

More fallout came this week after a News On 6 investigation into the government subsidized cell phone program called Lifeline.

US Senator Claire McCaskill, of Missouri, is calling for two Oklahoma companies to be barred from the program, along with any other company that breaks the rules.

She specifically called on the feds to bar Oklahoma City-based TerraCom and YourTel, companies 6 investigates profiled earlier this year.

Company executives told us they were working to fix problems our team discovered. Since our report, and others that followed, the companies fired their entire sales staffs, nationwide.

A TerraCom spokesperson issued this statement:

“TerraCom is a proven industry leader within the Lifeline program due to the processes and internal controls we have in place. With our triple check audit process, all information submitted for an applicant seeking enrollment in the Lifeline program is verified before enrollment is granted.

"TerraCom has zero tolerance regarding fraud or abuse of any kind related to the Lifeline program. If any individual’s information was used without their knowledge, those responsible should be held accountable. We encourage these individuals to contact us if they have any concerns or issues.”
