Tulsa Police Remind Fairground Neighbors About Parking Restrictions

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

The City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Police Department are reminding residents who live near the Tulsa County Fairgrounds about restrictions prohibiting the parking of vehicles in yards.

The Tulsa State Fair opens Thursday and in a letter to fairground neighbors, the City of Tulsa says ordinances pertaining to parking will be strictly enforced this year.

Letter from City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Police Department

The letter states streets near the fairgrounds have signs posted on one side of the street saying "No Parking During Events."

Parking in yards and between curbs and sidewalks could result in fines beginning at $60 for the vehicle's owner and up to $500 to the property owner providing the parking space.

In addition, illegally parked vehicles on streets near the fairgrounds will be towed at owner's expense if they are obstructing normal traffic flow.

Fair organizers have provided alternative parking sites and free shuttle transportation between those sites and the fairgrounds.

  • Tulsa Promenade Mall, 41st and Yale
  • Nathan Hale High School, 5960 East 21st Street
  • Tulsa Public Schools Education Service Center, 3027 South New Haven

Free Tulsa State Fair shuttles will run

  • Monday – Thursday 6 to 11 p.m.
  • Friday – 6 p.m. to midnight
  • Saturday and Sunday – 12 p.m. to midnight
