McLOUD, Oklahoma -

Generosity comes in all shapes and sizes, but some gifts just cannot be measured in a conventional way.

As News9 Lisa Monahan found out, a donation from one construction crew will actually help rebuild lives in Oklahoma.

On this project, the crew is mindful their structure will only be as solid as the foundation.

"It's a resurrection. We're making a difference," said Debbie Morton, Deputy Warden of Operations, while discussing a new chapel being built at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center.

"Seeing it go up is doing something to their spirits already," said Nin Walker.

Walker is excited for the chapel to be complete. She says it will be a place where sins can be forgiven.

"We've made a mistake and now we're here to change that and make a better live for ourselves."

Walker not only prayed for this opportunity, but she and several other inmates raised the money to make it happen.

"I know there's gonna be tears shed and there's gonna be a lot of emotion going on for the ladies here."

Walker says the inmates collected more than $5,000 to build the chapel.

World Mission Builders is also helping. The non- profit organization wants to put a chapel at every prison in Oklahoma.

The inmates will tell you they not just  working on the project, but also on themselves.

"I believe what matters is that these women's lives are being changed and we will get in here and change who we are so that we can be a better person on the outside," said Walker.

The Chaplain tells News 9 the new chapel will be used up to 150 times a month for both religious services and domestic violence prevention classes.
