A car crash resulted in a power outage at a Tulsa apartment complex late Wednesday.

Tulsa Police say a Mercury Sable was turning east on Independence from Martin Luther King at about 11:30 p.m. when it struck a utility pole's anchor cable.

The impact snapped off the pole at the top, with the pole and an attached transformer landing on the car.

When police showed up the driver was gone. Witnesses told them she walked to the Sunset Plaza Apartments on East Independence, which lost power due to the crash.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma crews fixed the pole and restored electric service to the complex in about an hour.
