Authorities have arrested the suspect in the Pottawatomie County manhunt who reportedly tried to run over three police officers last Friday.

James Morgan was taken into custody at Leo and Benedict Street in Shawnee, Monday evening.

Morgan, AKA "Tater," was originally wanted on drug complaints. According to police, officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Morgan before he got away. Morgan got behind the wheel and tried to plow over three officers, according to Tecumseh's assistant police chief.

Police say one officer opened fire on Morgan's car before a short pursuit. Morgan crashed his car on a side road and was able to elude officers again, police say.

Monday night, Tecumseh police officers, along with Shawnee police, the District Attorney's Office, and Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, were able to take Morgan into custody.

Now, officers say Morgan can count on adding some additional felonies to his criminal background.
