A national music video contest featuring pop music superstar Katy Perry also involves 100's of students from Norman High School.

It's the "Roar with Katy Perry" contest. High schools all over the United States have submitted two minute long music video's centered around Katy Perry's hit song "Roar."

The star of Norman High School's entry is 17-year-old Jake Pyle. Jake was born with a terminal illness called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Doctors said he'd live less than five years.

He's now 17, and looking forward to many more.

"Man it's just awesome being a part of this school and such a big project like this," he said Monday.

Katy Perry will announce October 10 who won the video contest. Jake's classmates are hoping all of this exposure will prompt a car dealership or someone to purchase a wheelchair accessible van for Jake. He says his biggest desire is to be able to drive.
