HASKELL, Oklahoma -

A Haskell couple is in jail after deputies say they found their 1-year-old child sitting in a roach-infested playpen.

Neighbors call the yard an eyesore--a trailer filled with trash bags, dirty socks laying in the yard, and random stuff mixed in with children's toys. That's just some of the things outside the Haskell mobile home.

"The trash around the place is what really concerns me," said neighbor Erv Londagin.

Londagin works and lives close by. He said he saw Muskogee County Sheriff Deputies arrive to arrest 24-year-old Kim Sowers and her 27-year-old husband, Carl.

Deputies said an anonymous tip led them to the house.

"Terrible living conditions, dirty, cockroaches all over the house," said Chief Deputy Brandon Caster.

The couple has three young children and investigators say a 1-year-old was found inside a roach-infested playpen.

"It's pretty disgusting when you hear that, because you wonder about the spiders and other stuff that's probably in there, too," Londagin said.

We don't know what else was inside, but we do know the front porch is filled with clothes. There's also a run down RV on the property, and that is where deputies said they found drugs and a possible meth lab.

"You wouldn't believe what drugs make people do. There's no rhyme or reason. It's crazy. I don't understand it," Caster said.

Londagin, who has known the Sowers for quite some time, said, "He's got a long history of drugs."

The couple is currently buying the land from Londagin, and he said they've failed to meet one condition.

"Part of their contract says that they can't make an eyesore out of it," he said. "It's an issue most small towns have, but it's certainly not one we enjoy."

The Sowers are being held on drug and child endangerment complaints.

The sheriff's drug task force cleaned up the meth lab. Deputies said the children are now in DHS custody.
