Two Oklahoma-based films will be featured at the Austin Film Festival later this month. "August: Osage County" and "The Fable of Shannon Cable" are two of more than 170 films that will be shown at the festival, which runs October 24-31.

"August: Osage County" features Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts and tells the story of the Weston family who reunites at their rural home in Oklahoma after the family's patriarch goes missing.

"The Fable of Shannon Cable" is written and directed by Oklahoma City University alum Vinnie Hogan. The film is a musical comedy and horror film. It tells the story of a young woman who learns the house she is caring for is haunted by a trio of singing ghosts known as the "Funky Soul Retrievers."

Also this month, the cast of "August: Osage County" will be honored at the  17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards with the "Hollywood Ensemble Award".

The honor will be bestowed at the Hollywood Film Awards Gala Ceremony on October 21 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

"We are very proud to recognize the ensemble cast of "August: Osage County," for their dramatic and outstanding performances," said Carlos de Abreu, founder of the Hollywood Film Awards.
