The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Tulsa man survived after his car veered off Highway 75 at the Caney River bridge south of Bartlesville and crashed into the river Saturday morning.

A trooper said Kenneth Dulan, 29, was headed north on 75, when he apparently fell asleep at about 8:20 a.m.

The OHP's report stated Dulan's 2005 Chevrolet Impala drove into the center median, hit a tree, which caused the car to flip end over end and land on its top in the Caney River.

The OHP says Dulan got out of his car and walked almost two miles to a farm equipment business where he called for help.

The trooper said Dulan's car had an odor of alcoholic beverages and Dolan was cited for inattentive driving.

Dulan was taken to a Bartlesville hospital, then transferred to a Tulsa hospital.  He is listed in stable condition.

Northbound traffic on 75 was diverted to a southbound lane for several hours as wreckers recovered the car from the river bed below the bridge.
