The dream of a Tulsa native who dedicated his life to making his hometown a better place came true Wednesday.

Tulsa Community College held a groundbreaking ceremony for their newest facility, the Nate Waters Physical Therapy Clinic at 815 South Cincinnati.

Waters was wheelchair bound after a brutal attack when he was 19, but he didn't let that stop him. Waters spent the rest of his life fighting to make Tulsa accessible for people with disabilities.

"Nate Waters was a student at TCC and a real inspiration to the community at how he didn't focus on his disability but focused on the things that he could accomplish," said Suzanne Reese, Associate Dean of Allied Health at TCC.

He was also an early physical therapy patient for TCC.  Nate Waters passed away April 20, 2013.

School officials said once completed, the nearly $2 million clinic partially funded by private dollars will provide physical therapy to patients in need as well as provide clinical learning opportunities for TCC students.
