Oklahoma State 24, TCU 10: By The Numbers

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

No. 21 Oklahoma State improved to 5-1 on the season with a hard-fought 24-10 victory against TCU. Here are some stats that stood out in Saturday's victory:

95 – Yards covered on Josh Stewart's punt return touchdown in the first quarter, setting a school record. The previous long of 90 yards had been achieved twice. Jim Wiggins did it in 1956 against Detroit and Jim Spavital had a 90-yard return against Drake in 1946.

16 – Total yards for TCU in the second quarter. The Horned Frogs managed just 62 yards of offense and three first downs in the first half.

325 – Total yards for TCU in the game. Despite giving up considerably more yards after halftime, the OSU defense continues to flex its muscle in 2013. The Cowboys held TCU below 50 percent passing (48.6), limited them to 3.5 yards per carry, six three-and-outs, two turnovers on downs, and forced four turnovers.

6 – The number of major missed opportunities by the Pokes in the first half. Despite a stellar outing from the defense, OSU failed to blow the game open with six "turnovers." The Cowboys threw three interceptions, turned the ball over on downs and missed two chip-shot field goals of 31 and 32 yards, respectively.

8 – Combined turnovers for the Cowboys and Horned Frogs. Each team threw three interceptions and lost a fumble on Saturday.

14 – Jeremy Smith's struggles on the ground continued, as he totaled just 14 yards on 12 carries for 1.2 yards per touch. His best run of the game, a six-yarder up the right side, resulted in a lost fumble.

79 – On the other hand, OSU burned the redshirt on freshman running back Rennie Childs, who came in and made an impact with 79 total yards. He had 45 rushing on nine carries with a touchdown and also had a 34-yard reception out of the backfield.

265 – And going back to Stewart, the junior receiver was undeniably the Cowboys' biggest playmaker on the day. Stewart had 265 total yards, including a season-best 10 receptions for 141 yards. He added 124 return yards, highlighted by his electrifying 95-yard TD in the first quarter. Stewart's 10 receptions matched the rest of the team's combined output.

415 – Despite a laundry list of offensive issues, Oklahoma State still managed to put up 415 yards of total offense. That is the second-most yards allowed by TCU this season, behind the 448 it surrendered in a season-opening loss against LSU.

7 – Consecutive victories for OSU in Boone Pickens Stadium. The Cowboys have won 14 of their past 15 games in Stillwater.
