Sunday marked the beginning of the end of the Bowl Championship Series.
The last, first set of rankings for college football's controversial postseason were released Sunday evening with Alabama firmly entrenched as the No. 1 team.
Florida State, fresh off its curb-stomping of Clemson Saturday night, narrowly edged Oregon for the No. 2 spot. Ohio State and Missouri rounded out the top five.
The Big 12 was represented with two top-10 teams. Baylor checked in at No. 8, while Texas Tech came in at No. 10.
The Oklahoma Sooners were No. 15 while Oklahoma State was No. 19.
The Sooners face Texas Tech on Saturday before traveling to Baylor Nov. 7. Oklahoma State will face the Red Raiders in Lubbock Nov. 2 and host Baylor Nov. 23.
