Deputies have taken one person into custody following a high speed pursuit throughout south Oklahoma City Monday afternoon.

According to police, the chase started following a traffic stop for an expired tag. Once the officer got him stopped, police say the suspect fled, first heading westbound along 59th Street. The suspect, driving a maroon Yukon GMC, led several law enforcement agencies through multiple roadways just south of the metro.

OKC police used stop sticks to ultimately bring the pursuit to an end. The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Joshua Ganey, then stopped and surrendered to law enforcement at I-240 Service Road near Sunny Lane.

Ganey is being booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of no driver's license, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, and eluding police.
