Vote for Local Non-Profit before Wednesday October 30th and Help Mission Kids Secure a Top 10 Spot
EAST NORRITON, Pa., Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mission Kids, a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center aimed at easing the criminal justice process for abused children in Montgomery County, PA has been nominated by David Craig Jewelers, for the Jewelers for Children (JFC) Local Grant Program. JFC, a non-profit organization founded by the jewelry industry in 1999, is dedicated to helping children in need. The recently launched Local Grant Program has set aside $100,000 to fund grants for local children's charities around the country. Mission Kids has been nominated to receive one of the ten $10,000 grants to be distributed by JFC.
"It is important to note the significant impact that $10,000 will have on an organization like Mission Kids," states Risa Vetri Ferman, Montgomery County District Attorney and co-founder of Mission Kids. "Winning this grant will help us provide greater resources for the abused children in our community, including expanding mental health and victim advocacy services. In this case, all it takes is one minute of time and one vote to help change the life of a child in need."
Public online voting for the grant is open now through Wednesday, October 30th on www.facebook.com/JewelersforChildren. The top ten organizations with the most votes will be awarded $10,000 each.
Recognized for the innovative and excellent work supporting abused children, Mission Kids is among thirty different organizations across the country nominated for the grant from JFC. As a non-profit, $10,000 will go a long way in allowing Mission Kids to continue to help children and families heal after the trauma of abuse in Montgomery County.
