Tuesday is a special day for a Broken Arrow couple with a place in their hearts for an Oklahoma favorite. They married 50 years ago on October 22, 1963, and they celebrated the same unique way they've done it every year since.

Bob Rosser said he was a broke college student at OSU when he and his wife Anne tied the knot in Broken Arrow way back in the day.

Back then, dining at Sonic was kind of a necessity. Today, they could have had dinner anywhere. And that's exactly the point.

What may sound unusual to you and me has been the most natural thing in the world during the last 50 years for Bob and Anne Rosser.

The Rossers' kids recently gave America's Drive-In the heads up mom and dad were coming, and Stillwater Franchise Owner Gene Longworth went all-out, fine china, the whole nine yards.

Bob got his PHD in animal nutrition from Oklahoma State, and had a successful career working for a handful of major feed companies. The Rossers can afford to eat anywhere and do anything they want on their wedding anniversary.

Gene Longworth, the Stillwater Sonic Franchise owner, actually took Bob and Anne's order 50 years ago today. As a matter of fact, that Stillwater Sonic is the oldest Sonic Restaurant, and there are 3,500 of them in America.
