Entering the match having played nine extra periods in 12 games this season, the Oral Roberts University men's soccer team continued the trend as they played to a double-overtime scoreless draw against Incarnate Word at home on Tuesday.

It was the third consecutive match for ORU (4-6-3, 2-1-0) match that has entered the second overtime period, while the Cardinals (4-5-1) recorded their first draw as a Div. I program.

In the 16th minute of action, Vincent Bailey had the first real opportunity by either team to put a goal on the board. Bailey controlled a loose ball about 30 yards out and blasted the ball off the crossbar.

Bailey led the Cardinal attack with two shots on goal.

Edgardo Mira, who led ORU with two shots on goal, had a chance to break the scoreless game in the 67th minute as he struck the ball toward the left post. However, UIW keeper Jarred Kahan made a diving save off his finger tips to knock it away.

Golden Eagle keeper Isaac Sandoval has only allowed two goals in 464 minutes of game time, since entering at halftime against Houston Baptist on Oct. 1. On Tuesday, the junior picked up four saves to move to 1-1-2 this season. Kahan finished the match for the Cardinals with three saves.

ORU will travel to face Omaha on Saturday for a key Summit League match at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles are currently a half game behind second place IUPUI in the conference race.
