An Oklahoma City man is in jail Thursday night after flying into a fit of rage.

Jeremy Anderson, 22, is accused of throwing furniture and glass at police, then setting fire to a bible, claiming he was a Satanist. Police even had to use a tazer multiple times to try to subdue him.

This is what neighbors living in this Southwest Oklahoma City housing complex on South Indiana woke up to find: Police tape lining unit 1419, and pieces of glass all over the grass.

Brenda Misner lives two doors down, and heard the commotion.

"Beating on the walls and breaking glass," said Misner. "I didn't know what was going on."

The police report states when officers arrived, Anderson was going ballistic and refused to cooperate. And it states that he continued to throw chairs and more glass at the officers.

Police say Anderson had blood on his hands and face and was screaming random things. He also had poured salt and soap all over himself. Police say Anderson then set fire to a Bible inside the kitchen, claiming he was a "Satanist" and saw "demons". Police even had to put on riot gear to go in and get him.

"Officers were able to finally make their way inside and pull the man to safety," said MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department. "They were afraid we was going to burn to death in there."

The report goes on to say that Anderson told officers that if he had a gun, that multiple people would be dead, including officers, because he would have started shooting at them.

Mizner and other neighbors say they had met Anderson before, and claim this crazy behavior was out of the norm.

"He was nice, you know. He seemed pretty calm," said Misner.

Neighbors say Anderson appeared to suffer from mental illness and may have been off of his medication.

Anderson is facing a complaint of first-degree arson and is currently being held in the Oklahoma County jail on a $10,000 bond.
