The Tulsa Fire Department was working a non-injury wreck on the Broken Arrow Expressway near Sheridan Road before noon on Wednesday when a another driver rear-ended the fire truck.

The wrecks caused a major eastbound slowdown. Officials reopened one lane of the BA after closing down all of them initially. Traffic was backed up for miles.

Tulsa Police say a red Ford truck exited Interstate 44 onto the Broken Arrow Expressway, but the driver lost control, sped through the emergency cones at the wreck scene and rear-ended the fire truck.

The man driving the Ford was severely injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Police officers weren't immediately sure if any firefighters or the parties from the first wreck were injured.
