OKLAHOMA CITY -

An investigation into stolen property led deputies to a suspected Oklahoma City drug operation Tuesday. It was all thanks to the tracking app of an iPad, according to authorities.

When Edmond computer guru Ellis Garrett walked to his car early Tuesday, he was in for a surprise.

"Right at that moment, it was a sinking feeling," Garrett said. "It was all my equipment … all my tools and everything for work."

Garrett left his car unlocked and thieves took full advantage -- stealing an iPad, laptop, tools and checks. But, that tempting iPad was where the crooks went wrong. A tracking app gave them away 18 miles south in Oklahoma City.

"[Deputies] asked how accurate [the app] was," explained Garrett. "I said, ‘that's within three to ten feet of that location.'"

Angela Minton, a neighbor of the suspects, took pictures showing deputies rounding up suspects after locating an illegal gun and 24 grams of meth inside the home.

"I've seen them carry drugs in there," Minton said. "All the police were here all the time being called for one thing or another … it was really a circus going on over there."

Minton says criminal activity is nothing new at the house in the 2500 block of W. Park Place. On July 15, Minton says she saw police take vehicles from the same house. Sheriff Whetsel says the entire case took less than three hours to wrap up.

Deputies arrested Amber Osborn on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and on a count of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Benjamin Cook was booked into jail for two counts of possession of stolen property.

Cora Hayes was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

Daniel Turner is facing a complaint of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

Frank V. Wood III was booked into jail for two counts of possession of stolen property, trafficking a controlled dangerous substance and maintaining a house where drugs are kept.
