Every Halloween, you often see elaborate displays across metro Oklahoma City for trick-or-treaters. News 9 met with one southwest Oklahoma family who picks a new movie theme each year.

Far, far away off SW 7th Street and West Kentucky Ave. in Anadarko lies a festive recreation of the popular movie "The Wizard of Oz." The display shows scenes of the tornado, Munchkin-Land, all the way down to Emerald City.

"Every year, I seem to do this and it just seems like more like people thank me more than anything just because they enjoy being able to see it," said Adam Davidson of Anadarko.

Davidson says for the last six years, he just picks a kid-friendly theme out of a hat that he and his family will dress up their house in for Halloween. Last year's theme was "The Night Before Christmas."

This year, it's taken the Davidson's a month to pull off their production.

"You have 30 pieces of 4x8 foot plywood, we have about 20 2x4's," Davidson said. "We have thousands of screws, nails, and gallons of paint."

Davidson, his father, girlfriend and her brother will dress as the Scarecrow, Lion, Dorothy and Tin-Man. But it wouldn't be the Wizard of Oz without the Wicked Witch of the West, and the family has a battery-operated witch with the voice of Margaret Hamilton as part of their display.

The witch is motion sensored, so whenever a trick-or-treater comes close, they'll hear one of many catch phrases, including, 'I‘ll get you my pretty and your little dog too!'

People driving by can't help but stop and look at the Davidson's decorations.

"I'm going to bring my grandkids over to trick or treat," said Nora Birdshead, who lives nearby. "They haven't done this much before. They always have a big Halloween house."

The Davidson's plan to keep their Halloween-themed tradition going for years.

"It'll be December, and people will start asking me, what are you going to do next year?"

Next year, the Davidson family plans to do a "Batman" theme, where they will re-create Gotham City, including characters like the Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. Davidson says he'll even turn his Camaro into a Bat-mobile.
