BIXBY, Oklahoma -

A three-bedroom home presented in Bixby has allowed a family to start a new chapter in its lives.

Wounded U.S. Army veteran Jeffery Murdorf lives in Oklahoma with his wife Amber and three kids.

At halftime of Saturday's football game at the University of Tulsa, the family was walked out onto the field and were presented keys to the home by the Military Warriors Support Foundation.

The foundation has helped more than 400 military families secure mortgage free homes across the country.

Murdorf is grateful and said having a new home is one more step in healing from the emotional and physical wounds from battle.

"I don't even know where to begin on that, you know?" he said. "It's just a lot of stress relieved."

Murdorf served with the U.S. Army for more than a decade.

He saw action in Bosnia, Kosovo and completed two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Murdorf's service to our country ended when he suffered combat-related injuries while he was in Iraq.

Murdorf's wife Amber is also a disabled veteran who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"It's nice to know that we have a place where we're going to be permanently, instead if wondering where we are going to go next," Amber Murdof said.

The family reached out to the Military Warriors Support Foundation in hopes of getting a new home.

The Murdorf's didn't know what to expect.

"When we were finally told we were awarded the house, getting to this point, it feels like it's been an eternity," Amber Murdof said.

After the family has lived in the home for three years, the deed will be theirs.

"We know where we're going to live for possibly a long time instead of moving around and not knowing where we were going live and uncertain about the future," Jeffrey Murdof said. "This helps a lot."

Through the help of sponsors, The Military Warriors Support Foundation has already donated more than 400 homes to military families.

"He's going to be able to recover and relax and rest and know that his family is in a stable place for many years to come," Tammy Levalley of the Military Warriors Support Foundation said. "It means the world to me to know that this is all for them and what they've done for our country."
