Tulsa Police captured a Catoosa man wanted for stealing checks, a debit card and driver's license after he left a QuikTrip without paying for gas. Dale Ray Robertson is in the Tulsa County Jail on a $36,000 bond.

Police say a QT employee at 28 North Harvard Avenue told them Robertson failed to pay for $101 in gas. The officer, who was at the QuikTrip, tried to pull over the fleeing SUV. Robertson took off, getting on, off and back on Interstate 244 before crashing.

"They exited the Mingo roadway and thought they were going to be able to get back on the highway, but there was no onramp at that location," said Sergeant Ryan Woods, Tulsa Police.

Robertson and his passenger both got out of the truck and ran. Police found Robertson hiding underneath some brush nearby, lying on his stomach, the arrest report says. Police say Robertson struggled but was taken into custody.

Officers found a clear glass smoking pipe with a white residue inside his vehicle, according to the report.

Robertson was booked on new complaints including larceny from a retailer, knowingly concealing stolen property, eluding, speeding, driving without a license, failure to stop for a red light, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

Police say he is a convicted felon who was already wanted on three counts of knowingly concealing stolen property including a Walmart debit card, personal checks and an Oklahoma driver's license.
