TULSA, Oklahoma -

A former employee of the "Urban Tulsa Weekly" told News On 6 the free independent newspaper has shut down.

That employee told us she received notice the company was also suspending all 401-K accounts.

She said former co-workers told her they were sent home Tuesday morning after a staff meeting announcing the shutdown.

We stopped by Urban Tulsa to confirm the story, but the doors were locked. We also called and emailed the paper for a comment, but have not heard back.
