WILSON, Oklahoma -

The family of a teenage girl missing since July says the investigation is moving ahead, while law enforcement has stayed quiet about any new developments.

Molly Miller has not made any contact since early July. Investigators believe Miller was a passenger in a car that took authorities on a car chase the night before she was last heard from.

"The investigation has progressed very well since the Oklahoma highway patrol has started the investigation," explained Paula Fielder, Molly Miller's cousin. "There have been other entities entered into it like the U.S. Marshals and they are making progress."

Miller's last-known location was on Pike Road in Love County. According to her phone records, Miller called a friend at about 9:33 in the morning asking for a ride from the area. That was the last reported contact anyone has had with her. She and Colt Haynes, who was apparently another passenger in the car, disappeared.

Miller's family has been heavily involved in the investigation since Molly disappeared. They organized several searches and conducted interviews with people who knew Molly. They have since taken a backseat to investigators, who the family says have stepped in and made progress.

"I think they have been able to confirm that she is deceased. And we don't know how or where or why. We don't have any answers to that," said Fielder.

Fielder told News 9 that OHP investigators have kept the family updated on the progress of the case with information she could not share for fear it would compromise the investigation. She did say, however, that investigators are closing in on making an arrest in the case. Fielder also said that she and her family think Molly was murdered.

Wilson Police Chief Felix Hernandez said Tuesday afternoon that they are actively following up on a new lead this week.
