No. 11 Oklahoma played one final tune-up before starting the regular season, and the Sooners nearly pitched a shutout.

Oklahoma defeated the University of Central Oklahoma 96-37 in its exhibition finale at the Lloyd Noble Center, using a stifling defense to pull away from the Bronchos with a 37-0 first-half scoring run.

OU led 11-6 with 16 minutes, 43 seconds remaining in the first half. UCO didn't score again until Brittany Lancaster made two free throws with six seconds remaining in the period.

UCO hit just 6 percent of its field goals in the first half, with two of its 32 attempts coming from Jill Bryan 3-pointers.

Kaylon Williams had game highs with 18 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.

Aaryn Ellenberg totaled 16 points, six rebounds (five on the defensive glass) and two steals as she paced the Sooners' defensive intensity.

Morgan Hook, who sat out OU's first exhibition game due to a dislocated thumb, started at point guard. Hook totaled nine points in 16 minutes on the court.

Nicole Griffin added 13 points and Portia Durrett 10 as OU's post players combined for 45 points.

OU outscored UCO 48-12 in the paint and 36-5 on second-chance points.

The Sooners begin the regular season Friday, hosting Stetson in the first round of the Women's Preseason WNIT.
