A man wanted for a Tulsa murder was arrested Friday in Muskogee.

Jordan Batice Mitchell, 20, was taken into custody by the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force after a short pursuit.

Christian Patrick Dehart, 22, was killed early September 27 inside the garage of a home in the 7100 block of South 77th East Avenue. Two others were shot.

According to police, at least two armed men entered the garage and opened fire on three people. Dehart died and two others were hospitalized. A school-aged child was found inside the home unharmed.

"We believe this was an armed robbery attempt and what the suspects were after were drugs," Sgt. Dave Walker said at the time of the murder. "There is no indication that the victim of the homicide was an intended target."

TPD was in Muskogee searching for Mitchell and when they initiated a traffic stop, he attempted to elude officers. After a brief pursuit, police said Mitchell entered a parking lot, then was unable to exit the lot because of heavy traffic. Officers said they witnessed Mitchell tossing a bag of what is believed to be marijuana in a trash can before being subdued by officers.

Mitchell was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm and shooting with intent to kill.

In June, Mitchell was arrested for child neglect, driving under the influence of drugs and multiple drugs and weapons complaints. In July, his bond was reduced from $500,000 to $100,000 and he has been free on bond awaiting trial in that case.
