Muskogee Police Catch Bank Robber A Few Yards From Bank

Muskogee Police officers arrested a man shortly after they say he robbed Firstar Bank on Main Street. Muskogee resident Kelly Rewe, 52, was identified as the robber by bank employees, according to a news release.

Officers say Rewe came into the bank at 501 North Main Street, told a teller, "This is a robbery," and demanded money. He received $2,000 in cash.

Police say he didn't get far. Rewe walks with a cane, and police officers caught up with him less than a block away.

The money was recovered.
