The Oklahoma women's basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Preseason Women's NIT on Sunday, taking down Wichita State in the quarterfinals, 89-70.

Junior Sharane Campbell led the Sooners in scoring with 24 points. As a team, Oklahoma shot 50.9 percent from the field. Morgan Hook had 15 points, while Aaryn Ellenberg and Nicole Griffin each had 14 points. Griffin added 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.

Alex Harden led the Shockers with 24 points while Kelsey Jacobs had 15 points.

It was far from a perfect performance from the Sooners. Oklahoma had 22 turnovers and shot just 4-of-15 from 3-point range. The Sooners had just 10 assists on 29 made baskets. However, Oklahoma outrebounded the Shockers, 54-30, and held Wichita State to just 38 percent shooting.

The Sooners never trailed, jumping out to an 18-9 lead on Kaylon Williams' bucket and foul with 13:55 in the first half. The Shockers battled back, cutting the lead to 20-17 two minutes later. Oklahoma then put the pedal to the metal, responding to Wichita State's run with a 23-2 run over the next seven minutes to open up a 43-19 lead with 4:38 remaining in the half.

Wichita State cut the lead to 12 by halftime, and closed to within nine points early in the second half, but could get no closer.

Oklahoma will advance to face the winner of Gonzaga and Tennessee-Martin in the semifinals of the Preseason WNIT.
