OKLAHOMA CITY -

Parents at Lee Elementary are outraged after a carbon monoxide leak wasn't detected until students and staff had to be sent to the hospital.

Three students and three staff members at the southwest Oklahoma City school ended up at the hospital.

Others were treated at the scene after people started complaining of dizziness, nausea and itchy eyes.

On Tuesday, we spotted workers replaced the source of the leak, a broken H-VAC unit.

Parents told News 9 they are worried about sending their kids back to Lee.

"She could have died. Any of those kids could have died," said Lyndsay Cieszynski, whose daughter got sick at school Monday.

"When my head was hurting, I felt dizzy," said 8-year-old Leanna Cieszynski, who told News 9 she felt like she was going to throw up until she went outside.

OKC public schools said it will look into options for getting CO detectors in all district schools.
