Voters In Green Country Decide Sales Tax, Bond Issues In Special Election

Tulsa voters weren't the only ones going to the polls for the November 12, 2013 special election. Several Green Country communities held elections for bond issues, sales tax increases and county and municipal elections Tuesday.

Notably, Catoosa Public Schools passed two bond issues, together amounting to over $21 million.

Proposition 1 raises over $20,660,000 for school construction, and Prop 2 raises $500,000 to go toward transportation.

Voters passed both with over 74 percent of the vote.

In Rogers County, voters passed a $1 million bond issue with 72 percent of the vote. It will go to building fire stations in northwest Rogers County.

And the towns of Henryetta and Locust Grove both passed sales tax increases by overwhelming margins.
