OSU students who have had safety concerns during long walks home to their dorms or apartments at night, have a new friend.

The University recently launched "Safe Walk." By dialing (405) 744-6523, students will get an escort home from a pair of Public Service Officers, who have been trained by campus police.

Chief Public Safety Officer Mike Robinson says he's hired 16 part-time PSO's who will be available seven days a week from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. Robinson says when they're not escorting students, PSO 'a will take care of a lot of security-related tasks.

"We want people to not only be safe, we want them to feel safe," he said.
