A popular Green Country holiday event is already sold out. Tickets for The Christmas Train went like hot cakes, leaving hundreds of people upset.

Computer issues contributed to the quick sell out.

When you go to the Christmas Train website, you see a note that says the tickets for 2013 are gone and they're working on a case-by-case basis to try to resolve any ticket issues.

The Christmas Train has been around since 1996. It's organized by Church on the Move. On average, the church sells about 50,000 tickets a year.

Last year, they sold out in 11 hours. So, this year, they were expecting to sell out even quicker.

The website was set up to handle selling out in 15 minutes, but with the high demand, they were on track to sell out much faster. It actually ended up taking an hour and a half to sell out, but that's because there were computer glitches.

Ethan Vanse, with Church on the Move said some customers were in the final stages of buying tickets when the website shut down and they were unable to buy them.

"We're thrilled that Christmas Train is so popular and we hate that there were some rough interactions for our guests in trying to purchase tickets, so that's going to be something as we recreate that process so it's smooth," Vanse said.

We checked on Craigslist and found there are nearly 300 people trying to find tickets to the event. Organizers say, unfortunately, they have heard of some scalpers trying to sell the tickets at a higher price.
