A 38-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed while attempting to cross the street in east Tulsa on Sunday night.

Police said the man was wearing dark clothing, and he crossed on a red light about 50 feet away from the crosswalk area.

According to investigators, he was walking from the Economy Inn to a nearby QuikTrip in the 1100 block of Garnett Road.

His identity has not been released.

The driver hasn't been cited for any traffic violations, but admitted to police he was drinking earlier in the day. The driver was taken for blood alcohol tests and those findings will be handed over to the district attorney's office.
