One neighborhood in the process of rebuilding is the one directly west of Plaza Towers Elementary School. And that's the home of one young man who rushed to help pull out children buried beneath the rubble.

Jacob Lyles and his neighbors took shelter in a backyard storm cellar that terrifying day. And now it is one of the few things left standing in their neighborhood, which is in the beginning stages of rebuilding.

"Well it's better than what it looked like, so I guess that's a good thing," Lyles said.

Lyles and his family are anxious to move back into their home. But right now all they have is a pile of dirt, only their address marking where their house once stood.

"It's a slow process, but we knew it was going to be a slow process," said Lyles. "So at least I will have a new house eventually."

Jacob's phone captured video images as the tornado barreled down towards their neighborhood. When they came back up out of the cellar, they saw utter devastation. His phone also recorded audio while it was in his pocket, as he helped pull two children out of the rubble at Plaza Towers Elementary School.

Now the school and the neighborhood has been cleared of all the rubble, and work has begun on some of the homes out there. Both Jacob and his mom are just thankful they're alive.

"We're safe, we're sound, we're going to rebuild," said Sheila Lyles, Jacob's mother. "We're going to come back bigger and better and it doesn't get much better!"

And Jacob hopes to one day meet those girls he helped save.

"I just want to see them and check on how they're doing take them something, make their day a little better," said Lyles, as he smiled at the thought.

Jacob and his family hope to be able to move into their new home in April. And they do plan on having a storm cellar of their own constructed inside the garage.
