A pizza deliveryman is accused of trying to serve up more than hot pies while on the job.

The delivery driver, 19-year-old Thomas Hobgood, was allegedly swerving on the Fourth Street in Chickasha on Nov. 20 when a police officer pulled him over.

According to a police report, the smell of marijuana masked the aroma of a fresh pizza sitting in the passenger seat of Hobgood's car. Hobgood allegedly admitted to officers he "only smoked a blunt" before the traffic stop.

The reports states the arresting officer thought Hobgood appeared to be "lethargic and very jolly" and did not pass a field sobriety test.

"This is an interesting case," said Chickasha Police Maj. Elip Moore.

Moore tells News 9 an officer searched the vehicle and found numerous bags of marijuana in the glove compartment. Hobgood allegedly confessed to selling the drugs.

"He basically broke down the denominations for how much it was for each bag," Major Moore said.

The report indicates Hobgood sold the small bags of marijuana for $20 each, the medium sized bags for $80, and the large bags for $150.

"Simply because he was out driving the vehicle around potentially he could have been making those deliveries as well as the pizza."

Moore said he was arrested for possession and intent to distribute the drugs.

Hobgood is out of jail on a $15,000 bond. He could not be reached in time for this report.

The Pizza Hut in Chickasha refused to comment on Hobgood's arrest, so, it is unclear if he is still employed as a delivery driver.
