Oklahoma State 49, Baylor 17: By The Numbers

Posted: Updated:
STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

No. 10 Oklahoma State rose to the challenge and then some on Saturday, thrashing No. 4 Baylor 49-17 in Boone Pickens Stadium. Here are some key numbers from the win:

12 – The number of consecutive completions for OSU quarterback Clint Chelf to start the game. It was a record-setting night for the Enid native, as he threw for a career-high 370 yards and three scores on19-of-25 passing. And just for good measure, he added a rushing TD and a 48-yard reception. Not a bad evening.

2 – Touchdown runs for OSU fullback Kye Staley. He had just one carry for seven yards on the season entering the game. He was a big part of the physical game plan on Saturday, however, as the Guthrie product rushed for 25 yards on seven carries to go with his two scores.

3 – Points in the first half for Baylor, its fewest of the season. The Bears' previous low was 21 against Kansas State.

3 (again) – Oklahoma State handed Baylor the third-worst loss suffered by a top-four BCS team in history.

0 – Points scored by the Bears in the first quarter, marking the first time BU has gone scoreless in the opening quarter in 2013. Baylor entered the game averaging 20.8 points in the first quarter. OSU also held Baylor scoreless in the third quarter, which had only happened once this season against Kansas State.

174 – Still not convinced by the defensive dominance? Baylor only had 174 yards in the first half. It's the only time BU has been held under 200 yards in 2013.

11 – Baylor's total number of turnovers through its first nine games, ranking 11th in the NCAA. OSU forced the Bears into three, one of which was returned 78 yards for a touchdown by corner Tyler Patmon.

35 – The number of consecutive losses for Baylor when it trails by at least 25 points in a game.

60,218 – New attendance record for Boone Pickens Stadium, marking its first official sellout since expansion.

17 – The number of victories for the Pokes in their past 18 games at Boone Pickens Stadium. OSU also improved to 9-3 in its past 12 games against nationally-ranked foes overall.

2002 – The last time OSU beat a BCS top 4 team in the regular season, which was No. 3 Oklahoma 38-28.

1939 – Still the last time Baylor won in Stillwater.

30.5 – Baylor coach Art Briles' average margin of defeat in Stillwater as he fell to 0-4 against OSU in Payne County. Oklahoma State has outscored BU 197-75 in those four games.

440 – The combined receiving yardage for OSU from eight different players. Tracy Moore led the charge with 126 yards and a score on five catches. Charlie Moore had four catches for 67 yard with a score and Jhajuan Seales tacked on 74 yards and a TD on three receptions.

50 – Victories for Oklahoma State in the past five seasons.

20 – Oklahoma State's nation-leading streak continued, as the Cowboys have now scored 20 points or more in 50-straight games. It's the second-longest streak in NCAA history, behind only USC's 63 from the mid-2000s.

1 – The number of expressions that will adorn OSU fans' faces the next few days. A big ole' smile.
