Today's sunshine sure looks nice, but those brisk northerly winds are still keeping our afternoon temperatures much below the mid 50s that is normal at this time of year. As the sun goes down this evening, the winds will also settle down, what few clouds there are will dissipate and temperatures will quickly drop below the freezing mark. By first thing in the morning, most of the outlying areas will be in the teens and the immediate Tulsa area near 20 for a very cold start to the day Wednesday. Bright sunny skies and a light northerly wind will make for a more pleasant Wednesday, although a very chilly one as daytime highs will struggle to make it much above the 40 degree mark

Thanksgiving Day still looks very pleasant although still cooler than normal. Morning lows in the 20s and daytime highs near 50 are expected as compared to the 55/34 that is the normal diurnal temperature range for Nov 28. Bright, sunny skies with just a few of those high level cirrus clouds can be expected all day along with a return to southerly breezes. The southerly winds will then continue on through the weekend resulting in moderating temperatures going into early next week.

Friday is looking mighty nice as well with southerly breezes, morning lows in the 20s and daytime highs back into the 50s. Sat/Sun will be even warmer as the southerly winds will continue, but moisture will also be returning along with more cloud cover and perhaps a few light showers along about Sunday. Right now though, any showers that may develop are expected to be very light. Notice the 7 day QPF map on the right which pretty much keeps most of the state high and dry through this forecast cycle. What rain does fall would be expected to be very spotty and very light.

All in all, some mighty nice weather for not only Thanksgiving Day but right on through the following weekend. There are signs of another storm system coming our way later next week, but the longer range guidance is not very consistent with that possibility so will hold off on making any projections at this time.

So, stay tuned and check back for updates.
