Several retailers opened their doors Thursday night, which means many Green Country folks put down their forks and picked up their credit cards for an early start to Black Friday.

The sun had yet to set on this Thanksgiving day and shoppers were already in position to be among the first to take advantage of the sales.

"I'm shopping for, like--11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18," said Mannford resident Antoinette Ball.

With a list that long, Ball said it practically pays to skip the traditional holiday feast.

"It's kind of weird, but if I get the deals, it's worth it," Ball said.

And at 5 p.m. on the dot, the doors at Toys"R"Us opened, clearing the way for the stampede of shoppers.

"I got a game plan," Ball said. "I've got everything circled. I came here on Tuesday and pre-shopped the store."

Ball wasn't the only one with a plan. Sharron Storicks was headed to the register with a basket full of toys in just two minutes.

It was the moment Chase Price and Grant Clark had been camping out for since Sunday.

"I'm getting some TVs, computers, iPads - all sorts of cool stuff - movies," Clark said.

But even with all the steals, not everyone is completely sold on using Thanksgiving to get their Christmas deals.

"I felt a little guilty on the way," said June Butler, of Locust Grove.

"It's okay. It is what it is, they're gonna do it whether you like it or not," said shopper Andrea Heim.
