Hot-Shooting Thunder Trounces Pacers

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Kevin Durant got the party started on Sunday night with 14 of the Thunder's first 18 points.

Then the rest of Oklahoma City's roster joined the fun and the rout was on.

In what was supposed to be a clash of the titans and a potential NBA Finals preview, it ended up being all Thunder as OKC blitzed the Indiana Pacers 118-94 at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Indiana entered the night with the best record in the NBA but this one was no contest, as the majority of the Thunder's starters spent the fourth quarter watching from the bench after leading by as many as 27 points in the second half.

Durant led the way with 36 points and 10 rebounds on a hot 14-of-23 shooting performance that included a 2-of-3 clip from 3-point land and 6-of-6 from the foul line, as Oklahoma City improved to 15-4 on the season and 10-0 at home.

The Thunder is the only Western Conference team that is still undefeated at home.

Russell Westbrook was on fire, as well, for the Thunder, going for 26 points and 13 assists on 11-of-17 shooting. Westbrook only missed one shot from inside the 3-point line on the night.

And the torrid shooting didn't stop with just the dynamic duo. Oklahoma City shot a season-best 61 percent as a team and was 19-of-20 from the free-throw line.

OKC dominated this game in every way, limiting the Pacers to 40 percent shooting, outrebounding Indy 46-29 and winning the assist battle 27-13. The Thunder also held a 22-12 edge in fast-break points.

While Durant and Westbrook did most of the heavy lifting on the offensive end, Reggie Jackson continued his stellar place as of late with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench, while Serge Ibaka added 13 points.

Paul George did his best to keep Indiana (18-3) in the game with 32 points but didn't get much help from his Pacer teammates on the second night of a back-to-back after beating the Spurs on Saturday.

The Thunder returns to the road on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. (CST) tip in Atlanta against the 11-10 Hawks.
