The University of Oklahoma football team took home two of three weekly awards from the Big 12 following OU's 33-24 Bedlam win at Oklahoma State. Senior wide receiver Jalen Saunders was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, while junior kicker Michael Hunnicutt was selected as the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Saunders caught the game-winning seven-yard touchdown pass with just 19 seconds left to lift the Sooners to the victory. It was his sixth touchdown of the season and the ninth of his OU career. Saunders had seven offensive touches for 88 yards (2-49 rushing, 5-39 receiving). He also scored on a 64-yard punt return in the first quarter, his second punt return touchdown of the season and the third of his career.

For Saunders, the weekly honor is the third of his career and second of the season as he was named the Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Week following the Iowa State contest on Nov. 16. It's his first time being recognized as the Offensive Player of the Week.

Hunnicutt scored his first career touchdown on an eight-yard pass on a fake field goal in the third quarter. He became the first OU kicker to score a touchdown since Tim Duncan did so on a 10-yard run vs. Texas A&M on Nov. 10, 2001.

With a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter, Hunnicutt set the OU record for most field goals in a season at 22. A 39-yarder added in the fourth quarter gives him 23 field goals this season and 61 in his career, also a school record. Hunnicutt also took over first place on the OU all-time kick scoring list and is third on the all-time scoring list with 341 points in his career.

Hunnicutt is just the third kicker in Oklahoma history to be named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, joining Garrett Hartley who won on Oct. 24, 2005, and Trey DiCarlo, who won on Nov. 9, 2002.
