2 Alleged Tulsa Gang Members Charged With Killing Federal Witness

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A federal grand jury Tuesday indicted two Tulsa gang leaders for the murder of a man in retaliation for his testimony.

The U.S. Attorney's Office is Tulsa says Lorell Battle, 31, and Gaywone Blades, 19, both members of the Hoover Crips, worked together to kill Anthony Campbell.

They are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder of a federal witness and use of a firearm during and in relation to a violent crime in retaliation against a federal witness.

Campbell, a Crips member himself, had testified against some gang members just weeks before he was killed. He was shot to death in his driveway in April, while retrieving his trash cans.

The indictment alleges Lorell Battle shot the victim 13 times at close range with a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol.

Along with, Paul Battle, 32, and Thomas Jackson, 28, the four were charged with conspiracy and drug related crimes in June.
