Thousands turned out for this year's Tulsa Downtown Parade of Lights.

The "Winter Fling" at the Guthrie Green is underway, it all happened after more than three dozen parade floats rolled through Tulsa to kick off the holiday season. The floats for this year's downtown parade of lights came in all shapes and sizes.

Parade-goers braved the cold temperatures to ring in the holiday spirit.

Members of the News On 6 news team also walked today's parade route. The parade went down 4th St. from Elgin and turned right at Boulder to loop back on 1st street.

A detour was made after two pipes burst at 4th and Cheyenne. Street crews had to dig up the intersection as water poured into nearby businesses. Water has been restored, but officials decided move the parade route so they could make repairs.

This year's Grand Marshal was actress and Tulsa-Native Samantha Isler.

"I wasn't expecting this it was super fun it was a good turnout so I'm happy it was great," said Isler.

When the parade came to a stop, some came down to the Guthrie Green to grab a warm drink and listen to some holiday music.

This parade went on as scheduled, but other holiday parades, like the one held in Tahlequah, was moved to this weekend because of the winter weather.
