TULSA, Oklahoma -

Salvation Army's "Secret Santas" have struck again. Officials discovered one silver and three gold coins in area kettles when counting donations this week.

A Krugerrand was dropped in the kettle at the Hobby Lobby at 51st and Harvard, a $2 silver certificate dropped in the kettle at Reasor's on 71st and Sheridan, and a Canadian gold coin wrapped in a $100 bill was dropped in a kettle at Promenade Mall.

Those donations add to the Krugerrand found last week at the Promenade.

The five coins are valued at roughly $6,200 according to John Davis, owner of Tulsa Gold and Silver. One of the gold coins came in last Saturday and qualifies for a dollar for dollar match by Davis' company.

"We get excited when we find one gold coin but to have this bonus of several is really a blessing," said Major James Taylor, Area Commander of the Salvation Army.

"We have no idea if it is the same person or different people making these donations, and our bell ringers can't ever tell you who it was who put the money in because it's usually wrapped in bills or notes."

With the shortened time span between Thanksgiving and Christmas and the 500 Angels whose wishes have been unfulfilled by shoppers who picked them off the Salvation Army Christmas Tree, it's a lean holiday season - so the coins are especially appreciated.
