The fire that damaged a Sapulpa restaurant early Wednesday was deliberately set, according to the fire chief.

Firefighters responded to Pablo's Mexican Restaurant in the 800 block of East Dewey just after 5:15 a.m.

Smoke was pouring from the windows as firefighters arrived but they got it out quickly.

Sapulpa Fire Chief David Taylor says the fire gutted the interior of the restaurant.

Chief Taylor says his department is working with the ATF and Tulsa Fire Department in the case. They ask anyone with tips to call 596-ARSN.

Sapulpa Police say the street in front of the restaurant was closed for a time because of fire hoses lying in the roadway.
