Richard Bachman turned away 38 shots as the Oklahoma City Barons downed the Texas Stars 2-0 Friday evening at the Cox Convention Center.

Oklahoma City moved to 11-14-0-5 on the year, while Texas fell to 17-8-2-2. It was Oklahoma City's first shutout of the year.

The Barons opened the scoring at 5:21 of the second period as Andrew Miller backhanded in a rebound past Christopher Nistorp to put Oklahoma City up 1-0. Martin Gernat earned the only assist on the goal. Texas out-shot the Barons 14-6 in the opening period.

Oklahoma City extended the lead to 2-0 on the power play at 14:50 as C.J. Stretch capitalized off an on-target shot from Will Acton. Ryan Hamilton earned the secondary assist on the goal.

Texas out-shot Oklahoma City 38-26 for the game but Bachman turned away every shot he faced.

The two teams close out the weekend series Saturday evening with a 7 p.m. puck drop scheduled. Saturday night is the annual Teddy Bear Toss Night. The Barons are looking for new and gently used stuffed animals for donation to EMSA. When the Barons score their first goal against the Texas Stars on December 21, the fans will be asked to throw their stuffed animals toward the ice. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to EMSA for use in breaking the ice with children who have been involved in a traumatic incident.

The game also features an opportunity to own a festive piece of holiday wear decorated by the Barons players. For the third straight season, Barons players will decorate small Christmas trees in a manner that is appealing to them. The decorated trees will be on display on the upper concourse near The Edge Team Store where fans can place bids on the trees. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Barons Buddies program.
