Ice Storm Contributes To Tulsa-Area Collisions

Freezing rain contributes to Tulsa-area collisions Saturday morning - including a driver who crashed into a drooping limb on Riverside Drive.

Riverside Drive proved to be deceptively dangerous with ice-laden limbs hanging into the roadway. A driver smashed into a low-hanging limb at about 7 a.m.

The tree also pulled down a power line which caused firefighters more difficulty as they pulled the car from the tree branch.

At 41st and Harvard, a woman stopped for the light was rearended and knocked into the intersection.

The driver that hit her from behind appeared to be intoxicated. Another driver blocked his car when he appeared to be leaving the scene.

No one was injured.

A Cleveland teen was killed overnight on an icy Highway 412.
