A pair of domestic violence deaths this past weekend has a local social services provider urging victims to get help.

Lynda Powell directs the Bethel Foundation. The non-profit assists single parents.

Powell is also a former domestic violence victim. She says one in three Oklahoma families is touched by domestic violence.

"A lot of people are ashamed to ask for help because they are embarrassed by their situation," she said.

Powell says Oklahoma is the third-worst State in America for domestic violence, according to statistics.
