OKLAHOMA CITY -

A year after the infamous kangaroo Lucy Sparkles disappeared, rumors of her return swirled on Christmas Eve, after a kangaroo was caught on camera by a hunter in Eastern Oklahoma.

"Oh my god this is insane! What the crap is going on?" wonders a confused hunter in Adair.

"As soon as it hit, the Facebook page, it went nuts. People started calling me, my phone blew up, my Facebook page blew up and everybody of course was hoping he found Lucy sparkles," explained Shayla Menhusen, Lucy's owner. "People still are holding out hope that we are going to find her."

Sightings of the little kangaroo were reported all over the state as Menhusen's family spent months searching for Lucy Sparkles, offering rewards, talking to a pet psychic and organizing a massive ground search.

"There is an exotic animal farm and I spoke to them today and their kangaroos are accounted for. But there is another many that lives in the same town who has kangaroos and we since found out that it was his kangaroo," Menhusen said.

Menhusen says even though this wasn't Lucy Sparkles, the support her family has gotten since she went missing is overwhelming. The family plans on getting another kangaroo this spring.
